Monday Night Football Live Updates: Lions fend off Seahawks as Titans pick up first win of the season

It took a perfect performance from Jared Goff, who even caught a touchdown pass himself, but the Detroit Lions fended off Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night.

The Lions got a late start to a 42-29 win over the Seahawks at Ford Field in the second of two “Monday Night Football” games to round out the week. That marked Seattle’s first loss of the year.

Goff was perfect in what was a hugely entertaining matchup. He went 18-for-18 for 292 yards and two touchdowns. He threw a 70-yard touchdown to Jameson Williams in the second half, and he himself caught a 7-yard pass from Amon-Ra St. Brown for a score.

Smith also had a great night. He threw for 395 yards and a touchdown in the loss to Seattle. DK Metcalf also had 104 yards on seven catches.

In the first game of the night, it was Mason Rudolph – not Will Levis – who led the Tennessee Titans to their first win of the season. The Titans earned a dominant 31-12 victory over the Miami Dolphins in South Florida, moving them to 1-3 on the year. Rudolph replaced Levis early in the first quarter after he went down with an injury, and he carried the team the rest of the way. He finished 9 of 17 for 85 yards. Tony Pollard ran for 88 yards and a score to seal the victory late in the fourth quarter.

The Dolphins used third-string quarterback Tyler Huntley as both Tua Tagovailoa and Skylar Thompson are dealing with various injuries. Huntley went 12 of 20 for 81 yards.

  • Goff returns the favor

After Amon-Ra St. Brown threw one at him earlier in the night, it’s only fair that Jared Goff returned the favor. Late in the fourth quarter, the Lions again lead by two scores.

  • Touchdown, Dolphins

Finally, the Dolphins have found the end zone. Tyler Huntley just punched in a 1-yard touchdown, but they missed the two-point conversion attempt. The Titans now lead by ten minutes with about three minutes to go.

Jameson Williams makes a wild 70-yard grab on the first play of the drive and scores again for Detroit! It’s now 35-20 late in the third.

  • Seahawks 20, Lions 28

The Seahawks are definitely keeping pace with Detroit this half. Kenneth Walker just drove in a 1-yard score to keep Seattle in this thing. However, the two-point conversion wasn’t good, so it’s an eight-point game.

Amon-Ra with a perfect pass for the touchdown! Detroit again leads by two possessions.

  • David Montgomery is unstoppable

    My god, David Montgomery.

Titans coach Brian Callahan told ESPN he is unsure who will start at quarterback in the second half. If Will Levis can play with his injured shoulder, Callahan says he will play.

“We’ll see how it turns out,” Callahan said. … “If he can play, he goes.”

  • The first half has mercifully ended in Miami. The Dolphins and Titans have combined for four field goals, six kicks, one fumble and one interception. Titans lead 9-3 at the half with a third Nick Folk field goal as time expires.
