Minnesota Lynx vs. Connecticut Sun on September 29

The Lynx are back in the semi-finals of the competition for the first time since 2020, marking a significant step forward after last season’s difficult exit in the first round, where they lost 2-1 to the Sun at Target Center. This year they are determined to flip the script.

The matchup will pit the Lynx’ high-powered offense, especially from beyond the arc, against one of the league’s best defensive units. The Lynx are the best three-point shooting team in the league, while the Sun rank second in perimeter defense. The Lynx’s ability to spread the floor could be a deciding factor, especially since the addition of Mabry gave them an advantage in that area.

Adding to the storyline, both Lynx point guards, Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman, have strong ties to Connecticut. They played a key role for the Sun in previous finals, including in 2019 and 2022, but now they want to get Minnesota back to the championship stage.
