In the first game of the week of the 2024 season, Millard North held off a late comeback from cross-town rival Millard West, claiming a 29-21 victory in a Nebraska Class A road game.

Bellevue West, also in Class A, overcame a 14-point deficit in the second half to beat Omaha Central 28-27, while Papillion La-Vista beat rival Papio South 29-24. Ralston defeated Lincoln Northwest 44-0.

Bennington, the reigning Nebraska Class B champion, picked up where it left off with a 23-0 shutout win over Waverley in Week 1, while the team the Badgers defeated in last season’s state final, Skutt Catholic, defeated Norris 29-13.

Across the river in Iowa, the two-time reigning Class 4A state champions Lewis Central Titans opened with a convincing 31-10 win over Harlan.
