Marcee Gray, mother of alleged Georgia school shooter Colt Gray, says the school was warned even before the deadly attack

The mother of Georgia school shooting suspect Colt Gray claimed that teachers noticed her son making references to school violence even before she called the administration to warn him.

“The counselor said, ‘I wanted to let you know that one of Colt’s teachers sent me an email earlier this morning saying that Colt was making references to school shootings,'” Marcee Gray told ABC News in a video interview from her home.

“Between my gut feeling, the text messages, and now this email, I need you to run to class as fast as you can,” she said.

Authorities say Colt Gray opened fire about 30 minutes after his mother’s warnings. They said school officers tried to track down Colt but instead detained another student.

Speaking about the two students and two teachers who died in the massacre, Marcee Gray told the network during the emotional interview, “If I could take their place, I would. I would do it in a heartbeat.”
