Man seriously injured after reportedly being stabbed after using public toilet

A man was seriously injured after he was reportedly stabbed in the neck after using a public toilet in southern New South Wales.

Emergency services arrived at Baylis St, Wagga Wagga around 4pm on Thursday.

“Police were told the man was using a public restroom before he was allegedly attacked and stabbed by another man,” police said.

Paramedics treated the man for injuries to his eye and nose and stab wounds to his neck and leg.

He was taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police later arrested a 60-year-old man at an address on Sherwood Ave, Kooringal.

He has since been charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and breach of bail. He will appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court on Friday.
