Gant’s trial for the December 2020 murder of 28-year-old Seth Stephens began Monday. The victim’s mother, Rachael Stephens, had testified. Seth was killed while working at the New King Mao restaurant.

Prosecutors alleged that Gant entered, demanded money, and shot Seth when Seth refused to hand over the money. Attorneys also alleged that Gant confessed the crime to his sister.
