Macklemore Removed From Downtown Las Vegas Festival Amid Controversy

Rapper Macklemore has been dropped from the lineup for the first Neon City Festival in Las Vegas, organizers said.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Macklemore will no longer be performing at Neon City Festival (NCF),” a statement released Tuesday reads. “We are excited to announce new artists joining the NCF lineup soon.”

Macklemore, real name Benjamin Haggerty, was announced last week as one of the headliners of the festival, which is scheduled for November 22-24, in combination with the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

However, he is caused controversy last weekendfor comments he made during a concert in Seattle to benefit humanitarian aid for Palestinian civilians.

“Straight up. Say it. I ain’t gonna stop you,” Macklemore was recorded doing during the concert. “I ain’t gonna stop you. Uh, yeah, f*** America.”

It is unclear what the crowd said before he spoke.
