All five Sun starters scored in double figures: Brionna Jones had 19 points, Alyssa Thomas 13 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

But the sun did not get much support from the bank.

Leading by 13 coming out of a timeout with 4:23 to go, the Lynx saw their lead shrink. DeWanna Bonner’s two free throws with 3:03 to go made it an eight-point game.

But the Lynx were not stopped.

After Bonner hit her free throws, Collier scored. She then blocked Marina Mabrey at the other end, then fed Alanna Smith a three-pointer with 2:10 left, cutting the Lynx lead to 13. With Connecticut running within seven minutes, Williams calmly hit a midrange.

Collier started strong, hitting four of five shots, grabbing four rebounds and an assist in the first quarter, which ended with the Lynx leading 23-16. Minnesota scored six players in the quarter and the team combined to shoot 11-for-19, although the team made just one of five three-point attempts.
