Hurricane Milton may have dropped to Category 4 strength Wednesday morning, but the historic storm will still devastate the Gulf Coast and other parts of Florida when it makes landfall this evening early Thursday morning.

The first bands of rain have reached the Sunshine State, as the National Hurricane Center warns that “Milton has the potential to become one of the most destructive hurricanes on record for west-central Florida.”
