Lee Corso made his triumphant return to ‘College GameDay’ at Texas A&M

College GameDay made its season debut this past Saturday during Week Zero’s broadcast from Dublin. One person missing from that broadcast was Lee Corso. The GameDay stalwart was noticeably absent from the international broadcast, but fans were excited to see him back on the station when the show aired from College Station.

Host Rece Davis introduced the new main panel, consisting of Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban, before saying he was “excited to be back with the great Lee Corso.” This earned applause from everyone on set and the fans in attendance.

“I’m starting my 38th year here at ESPN,” Corso said. “And thank God I’m good enough to come back and do it again.”

Corso has missed a few broadcasts in recent years due to health issues, so a glimpse of the legendary college football voice is enough to make fans feel like it’s fall. When he’s out of the picture, people get worried.

Corso has been involved with GameDay since its launch in 1987.
