Colorado kicked off its 2024 college football season on Thursday night with a game against FCS team North Dakota State. It didn’t take long for the Buffaloes’ stars to shine, as Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter combined for the team’s first score of the campaign.

Sanders went back and threw a short pass to Hunter, who reeled it in easily and quickly made the first defender miss. Hunter then showed his speed, driving up the field and winning the foot race to the end zone for Colorado’s first six points of the year.

Sanders followed up his short pass to Hunter by showing off his arm strength. As defenders closed in and the pocket collapsed, Sanders stood tall and fired a bomb to Jimmy Horn Jr., who was wide open downfield. The throw was perfect, and Horn cruised into the end zone to cap a two-play, 75-yard drive.

While the game in Colorado was broadcast nationally on ESPN, many star athletes and American football fans tuned in to watch the Week 1 game. Fans like LeBron James, Patrick Mahomes, Robert Griffin III and others were very positive about Sanders’ first quarter performance.
