Lady Gaga is back with new music, and her fans have made her latest release an instant hit. The superstar teamed up with Bruno Mars for the collaborative tune “Die with a Smile,” which is hitting the charts in the U.S. this week.

“Die with a Smile” is the most successful single in the US on the Digital Song Sales chart. The hit launches at the top Advertising boards ranking of the best-selling songs in the country with over 18,200 copies sold, according to Luminate. The single returns both Mars and Gaga to the top of the all-genre charts, and it’s a special win for both of them, especially her.

Gaga has now reached No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart nine times in her career. With another winner under her belt, she ties Ariana Grande for sixth place among solo female artists in the history of the chart.

Currently, Taylor Swift leads the list of musicians with the most champions on the Digital Song Sales chart. In her years as a star, she has pushed a whopping 29 different songs to the throne. No other artist has managed to achieve 20 winners to date.

Nicki Minaj and Rihanna are the second and third most successful artists of all time on the Digital Song Sales chart, with “successful” being defined as the most number of No. 1s. The rapper of the two has scored 17 leaders, while Rihanna has scored 14. Beyoncé and Katy Perry come next, and they are separated by just one No. 1. Queen Bey has reached the peak position 12 times, while Perry has done so with 11 smashes.

Both Grande and Gaga have secured nine No. 1s on the Digital Song Sales chart, including one hit they share. The two artists collaborated on “Rain on Me,” which shot to the top spot in 2020.

Gaga has appeared in the top 10 of the purchase-focused chart with 29 different tracks, while Mars increases his career total to 10 No. 1s and 22 appearances at the chart’s highest point.
