Kelce Brothers Sign $100 Million Wondery Deal for New Heights Podcast

Jason and Travis Kelce have signed a promising new deal with Amazon’s Wondery, which will have exclusive rights to ad sales and distribution for the popular weekly podcast “New Heights,” hosted by the famous soccer brothers.

The three-year deal between the Kelce brothers and Wondery is worth more than $100 million, according to a source familiar with the pact.

Beginning Wednesday (Aug. 28) — timed to the start of the next NFL season — Wondery will have worldwide distribution rights to all audio and video episodes of “New Heights With Jason and Travis Kelce,” including the back catalog of all content from the show, as well as rights to create international audio adaptations of the podcast. Wondery will have exclusive rights to monetize and distribute audio and video podcast episodes.

“New Heights” will remain widely available across all podcast services, including Wondery’s various distribution channels and on YouTube. The deal also includes ad-free listening for Wondery+ subscribers, livestreams and rights to develop, produce, license and distribute all merchandise based on “New Heights,” including new consumer products. Wave Sports + Entertainment will continue to provide production services for “New Heights.”

“We can’t wait to partner with Wondery for the next phase of ‘New Heights,'” the Kelce brothers said in a statement. “We love this show and the fan base that has grown with us over the past two seasons. Wondery understands our shared vision and will bring a wealth of experience and resources to take us to ‘New Heights!’ Together, we’re going to create groundbreaking moments through this partnership. We’re excited to kick off Season 3 — see you soon, 92%ers!”

It’s another big deal for Wondery, similar in structure to the $80 million pact it announced last month with comedian and podcaster Dax Shepard. Other major podcasters have signed big-money deals recently, including Joe Rogan’s $250 million multi-year deal with Spotify and Alex Cooper’s $125 million deal with SiriusXM.

Wondery CEO Jen Sargent said the company has been following the Kelce brothers’ podcast since it launched at the start of the 2022-23 NFL season. “‘New Heights’ is on the surface a sports podcast, and sports is such a heavily listened-to category,” she said. “But it’s become a cultural phenomenon — they’re in that cultural zeitgeist.”

On the show, the siblings — both Super Bowl champions with a combined 24 years in the NFL — discuss life on the field and share personal stories from their day-to-day lives. They’ve also discussed topics ranging from PB&Js to UFOs and host a rotating schedule of celebrity interviews. The weekly series continues to rank among the most popular podcasts on both the Apple Podcast and Spotify charts, and was named Podcast of the Year at the 2024 iHeartPodcast Awards.

Aaron Eanes, co-founder of A&A Management, which manages Travis Kelce, said in a statement: “The tremendous growth of ‘New Heights’ over the past few years is a testament to the talent and dedication that Travis and Jason — and the incredible team behind the scenes — continue to put into every episode. We’re thrilled to partner with Wondery for this new chapter of the podcast and look forward to taking it to new heights.”

The Kelces have other off-the-field media deals as well. Travis Kelce, better known in some circles as Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, is hosting a 20-episode season of “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” for Amazon Prime Video. And Jason Kelce, who retired after the most recent NFL season, signed on as a commentator for ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” pregame show.

Wondery’s audio portfolio spans multiple genres, including true crime, comedy, business, history and sports. Its sports lineup includes “Six Trophies”, “Men in Blazers” and “The Offensive Line With Annie Agar”.
