Nicole Kidman’s husband, Keith Urban, refused to talk about his wife during an awkward meeting after her mother’s death.

During an exclusive interview with The Times On Friday, September 20, the 56-year-old gave an insight into the devastating situation his family found themselves in after losing a cherished family member.

He told the outlet, “Yeah, everybody’s good, man. Thanks for asking.”

He declined to discuss his mother-in-law’s death and Nicole’s emotional state, adding: “I just don’t want to give you a headline about my wife, Ed.”

Meanwhile, the Perfect couple star, who received the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award for her stellar work in the industry, expressed her sadness in a statement read by director Halina Reijn after her win.

“Today I arrived in Venice and shortly after I heard that my beautiful, brave mother Janelle Ann Kidman had just passed away.

“I am in shock and have to go to my family, but this award is for her. She shaped me, guided me and made me.

“I am beyond grateful to be able to call her name to all of you through Halina, the collision of life and art is heartbreaking and my heart is broken. We love you all.”
