Katy Perry is the recipient of this year’s Video Vanguard Award at the 2024 VMAs, which, if you didn’t know, is a pretty big deal. The award is the ceremony’s highest honor, with previous recipients including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Shakira, and—ah yes, The Beatles. To name a few! Think of it as the equivalent of a lifetime achievement award, if you will.

In addition to taking home the grand prize (which Katy was given by her fiancé Orlando Bloom, by the way. How cute!), Katy also took the stage to perform a medley of her greatest hits. Truly iconic, but we’re getting ahead of ourselves. Let’s rewind to last night’s red carpet (Wednesday, September 11th) where Sabrina Carpenter, Addison Rae, and Tyla all arrived in style.

Like Katy, who hit the red carpet in a completely ripped white top with a shoulder-length bra and matching maxi skirt from Who Decides War.

Katy skipped all accessories, save for a black metal arm cuff that she wore around her upper bicep, opting to let her outfit do the talking. As for her beauty look, she wore her long dark locks down in a wet-look style, with strands clinging to her face. She also appeared to have doused herself in body oil, judging by her glistening torso in all its glory.

We’re not sure whether the look is more reminiscent of a chic desert island or a glamorous Egyptian mummy, with the torn fabric resembling a bandage.

Oh, and as we mentioned earlier, Orlando Bloom was there too, walking hand in hand with Katy down the red carpet.

The actor looked handsome in a black suit, worn with a simple black T-shirt, so as not to overshadow Katy on her big night. Not that he ever really could beto be honest.
