Gabriel Magalhaes was Arsenal’s hero at White Hart Lane, scoring the header that sealed a 1-0 win over Sp*rs and leading the defence to a well-deserved clean sheet.

After the match, the Brazilian international was asked questions by Sky Sport alongside Jorginho, who captained the team in the absence of Martin Odegaard.

Gabriel: I’m so happy, we knew it was a tough game, a big derby. We’re so happy to win here, let’s enjoy it now.

About what scoring means…

Gabriel: It means a lot. I’m so proud of the team and when we were struggling in the game we scored from a corner. I’m so happy.

On how hard Arsenal had to work for a clean sheet…

Jorginho: We had to work really hard, as you saw, but we knew it was going to be a tough game. When you have days like that, you really have to work hard. We can count on each other, on our teammates and that’s what we do. We stick together and in the end the work paid off, we’re so happy that we won and I’m so happy for this guy (Gabriel) that he scored the winning goal.

On the confidence in the work done on the training field, given the many injuries…

Jorginho: That’s what I said, we know we can count on each other now that we have this situation where we are missing important players, but we have a complete team, the entire squad, we know that whoever comes will be ready to help the team and, as you saw today, everyone was ready. We are really proud of the team and happy.
