Jordan Ayew: Leicester City sign Crystal Palace striker

Leicester have signed Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew on a two-year deal from Crystal Palace in an initial £5million deal.

Ayew, who has spent the past six years at Palace since first arriving in England on loan in 2018, will bolster the Foxes’ attacking options.

He made 212 appearances for Palace, scoring 23 goals and came on as a second-half substitute in Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to Brentford.

The 32-year-old – whose transfer fee including bonuses could rise to £8m – joins Oliver Skipp as Leicester’s new signing, having joined the midfielder from Tottenham earlier this week for £20m.

Promoted Leicester drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur in their opening match of the Premier League season on Monday, with Jamie Vardy scoring the equaliser.

The Foxes travel to Fulham on Saturday (15:00 BST) for their next league match.
