For two teams that aren’t even in the same division, there’s no better rivalry than what we’ve seen between the Bengals and Chiefs in recent years. And once again, the game came down to the final drive.

When you look at Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, you know exactly what it would have meant for Cincinnati if they had left Arrowhead Stadium with a win on Sunday.

With a fourth-and-16 play and two points behind, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a desperate pass to Rashee Rice. The pass was incomplete, but a flag came into view when Bengals cornerback Daijahn Anthony went through Rice’s back.

While the Chiefs have benefited from some questionable calls in the Mahomes era, you can’t blame the arbitration for that. Anthony was there early with the contact, and it wasn’t exactly close.

However, Burrow’s reaction on the sidelines showed the true emotional rollercoaster of that action.

The Bengals quarterback was ready to celebrate before he saw the flag. He responded by banging his helmet in frustration, and Harrison Butker sealed the win for Kansas City a few plays later.

It was a game the Bengals would certainly like to see again.
