Pittsburgh Steelers star pass rusher TJ Watt received a playful congratulatory message from his brother, former five-time Pro Bowl defensive end JJ Watt, after reaching 100 career sacks on Sunday night.

“New guy buys everyone a car,” JJ wrote in a post on X after welcoming him to the club. “I don’t make the rules, that’s just how it goes.”

Welcome to the 100 Sack club @_TJWatt,
we waited.
A new man buys a car for everyone.
I don’t make the rules,
That’s just the way it goes…

JJ recorded 114.5 sacks during his 12-year career with the Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals.

As for TJ, he became the second fastest player in NFL history who reached 100 sacks after shutting down Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott during the Steelers’ 20-17 loss in Week 5.

After cutting Prescott, the Steelers outside linebacker officially became the 44th player in league history to reach 100 sacks (via Pro Football Reference).

He finished the game against Dallas with eight tackles and 1.5 sacks. TJ also forced Prescott to fumble while taking him to the ground, preventing the Cowboys from scoring after driving into the Steelers’ red zone.

JJ was excited to see his younger brother dominate a Cowboys offensive line, allowing 10 sacks in the game.

The 35-year-old concluded his incredible career in 2022, to retire at the end of his senior year with the Cardinals. The elder Watt won three NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards, surpassing 20 sacks in a year during his 2012 campaign and 2014 season.

The brothers remained close after JJ’s playing days ended, when he visited Pittsburgh’s training camp ahead of the 2024 season.

Glorious day for some football in Pittsburgh.
A little chill in the air, the pads are popping, the season is upon us.
So much pride looking @_TJWatt working, talking to the boys, being back on the grass.

TJ has followed in his brother’s footsteps as he has become one of the league’s most imposing defensive players since being selected in the 2017 draft with a first-round pick. In addition to his high sack totals, he has also collected 113 tackles for loss, 46 passes defended and 28 forced fumbles during his eight-year career.
