JJ Watt made a joke after TJ Watt joined the Historic Club with 100 career sacks

Pittsburgh Steelers star TJ Watt on Sunday night became just the 44th player in NFL history to record 100 career sacks. He was the second fastest to reach the milestone, needing just 109 games, but was surpassed only by the legendary Reggie White who did it in 96 games.

Following Watt’s milestone (a strip sack from Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott), his brother and fellow member of the 100 sack club, JJ Watt, took to social media to congratulate him while making a perfectly timed joke.

“Welcome to the 100 Sack Club… we’ve been waiting. A newbie buys everyone a car. I don’t make the rules, that’s just how it goes,” JJ joked to X as he congratulated his younger brother.

That’s certainly one way to celebrate your brother or sister’s historic achievement.

JJ retired after the 2022 season and needed 120 games to record his 100th sack in the NFL. He finished his illustrious career with 114.5 sacks, a mark that TJ seems destined to surpass.

During his playing days, JJ was one of, if not the most feared, pass rusher in the league. That title can now be attributed to his younger brother, who recorded his fourth sack of the season and the 100th of his career during Sunday night’s game.
