Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh was proud of his team after they fought hard in Week 1 and defeated the Las Vegas Raiders by a final score of 22-10.

“They’re hard to come by,” Harbaugh said, via Grant Gordon of NFL.com. “These are hard to come by. Everybody in that locker room knows, as do I, that it’s really hard to win a game in the NFL. I take my hat off to everybody in the organization, especially those who have done the dirty work here.”

Harbaugh earned his first win as an NFL head coach since joining the San Francisco 49ers in 2014. After the win, he was presented with a game ball in the locker room.

Harbaugh’s 49ers teams have typically started the season strong, as he won all five of his games in Week 1 for the organization.

The Chargers failed to achieve that feat in 2023, losing their season opener and ultimately losing four of their first six games before finishing the year with a 5-12 record. This led to the hiring of Harbaugh on January 24, who was fresh off an undefeated season and a national title with Michigan at the time.

Los Angeles wasn’t exactly dominant against its division rival on Sunday. However, the Chargers were able to capitalize on three Raiders turnovers and seal the game with a touchdown from rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey in the fourth quarter.

Harbaugh’s team will look to maintain the momentum and try to secure the organization’s first 2-0 start since 2012.
