Jenn Tran Jokes She Hates Men After Devin Strader Breakup

Jenn Tran isn’t ready to jump into a new relationship just yet after her romance with Devin Strader ended for good.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that the 26-year-old would be joining season 33 of “Dancing With the Stars” alongside partner Sasha Farber.

And while Tran told People Magazine she’s “excited” to embark on this new journey, she doesn’t plan on doing a showmance anytime soon.

“I’m still in the healing process,” she said, before teasing, “Right now I hate men, so…”

Of course, Farber, 40, is the exception to that rule. “Except you,” she exclaimed to the dance pro. “I hate all men except you.”

Today, Tran is focusing on the future after her relationship with her former fiancé took a turn when the cameras on “The Bachelorette” broke.

The morning after the couple reunited on “After the Final Rose” for an in-depth conversation about their split, Tran declared she was ready to “move on with my life.”

“It was definitely a moment that I’ve been craving for the past month,” she said of her conversation with Strader, 28, on “Good Morning America” on Wednesday. “I just needed to get that off my chest and start fresh.”

Tran then explained why the exes’ reunion was desperately needed.

“Devin and I were engaged in May and we broke up about a month ago,” the reality star said. “And since then it’s just been on and off and stuff. So it’s nice to finally get the closure that I needed last night.”

After Tran and Strader got engaged in Hawaii, she said “nothing had changed” about her feelings for the man she had chosen.

“I was so happy, so ready to start our life together,” Tran reflected. “But I had realized that his energy had changed and his priorities had changed and he wasn’t the same person he was on the show as he was off of it.”

But the New Jersey native noticed her fiancé’s change in personality “almost immediately.”

“I started noticing the different efforts and the inconsistencies and the things he promised me and then didn’t deliver,” Tran added. “But I said, ‘Maybe it’s just the show, a lot of it came out of the show.’ So I gave grace to that. And I think over time I realized that his heart just wasn’t in it anymore.”

Despite their split, the aspiring medical assistant confirmed that she “absolutely” does not regret proposing to Strader before he got down on one knee to propose.

“I proposed to a man who promised me a fulfilling life, a loving partnership, and a marriage that I always wanted. So I feel confident that I still want that,” Tran said. “Unfortunately, he just wasn’t the man he made himself out to be. But I would be so happy if I could find another man who could fulfill those promises.”

While in Hawaii, Tran broke things off with Marcus Shoberg, 32, after he hesitated to express his love for her because he “wasn’t giving her what you needed.”

Tran then chose the owner of the freight company.

Strader broke off their engagement in August in a 15-minute phone call, while season 21 was still airing.

“He basically said he didn’t love me anymore and he didn’t feel the same way about me anymore,” Tran told host Jesse Palmer on Wednesday night’s After the Final Rose, noting that “he denied ever being in love.”

Tran’s mother cried in the audience as the influencer told Palmer, 45, that Strader refused couples therapy and “didn’t want to fight for the relationship anymore.”

Strader then took the stage with Tran and Palmer to tell his side of the story.

“I let you down, but everything I felt for you was real,” he admitted. Stader also noted that he had “a lot of doubts” during their two-month engagement and claimed he was open about those fears.

But Tran disagreed with his assessment and pushed back on how honest he really was, to which Stader confessed, “I was unfortunately too late to let you know. You’re 100% right.”
