Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders took over Sunday afternoon’s game after the Arizona Cardinals started strong with a Marvin Harrison Jr. touchdown just before the 10-minute mark in the first quarter.

The Commanders then pulled away and eventually scored a decisive 42-14 victory, outscoring the Cardinals 25-7 in the second half.

QB Jayden Daniels has completed at least 85 percent of his passes in two straight games. He is the first quarterback in NFL history to play two consecutive games with a completion percentage of at least 85 percent or higher (minimum 15 attempts in each game).

Both the Cardinals and Commanders have their sights set on turning around their franchises after both teams posted 4-13 records last season.

The difference? The Commanders drafted reigning Heisman Trophy winner Daniels during the offseason.

Daniels impressed the nation on Sunday, throwing for 233 yards and completing 26 of 30 passes, along with securing one touchdown.

Murray, on the other side of the field, finished with 142 yards, completed 16 of 22 passes and threw one touchdown.

During his Heisman campaign with the LSU Tigers, Daniels averaged 318 yards per game with a 73 percent completion rate and 40 touchdowns.

His transition to the NFL has been smooth and he continues to show that perhaps he should have been the No. 1 pick in the 2024 draft.

Daniels boasts an 80 percent completion percentage and is starting the season with no interceptions through four games.

Daniels will look to demonstrate his excellence again on Sunday, October 6, against Christian McCaffrey and the San Francisco 49ers.
