Democratic strategist James Carville said Wednesday he was concerned about Election Day and urged Vice President Kamala Harris to become more aggressive in the coming weeks.

“All I feel is that the election is happening on November 5. I’m terrified,” he told MSNBC’s Ari Melber. “I’m very, very concerned.”

Carville claimed that Harris actually only had about 20 days to boost her reporting, as Hurricane Milton was likely to dominate news coverage in the coming days.

“They have to be sharp. They have to be aggressive. They have to stop answering questions and start asking questions. They do all this and sit down with ’60 Minutes’ and sit down with Colbert and sit down – what’s going on also happens “When I come to your show, you ask me the questions. If I have a press conference, I can ask the questions,” he said.

“You’d like to see her do more press conferences?” Melber asked.

Carville said he wanted Harris to organize more events and control the narrative.

“Where she says, ‘What is JD Vance talking about that Trump saved ObamaCare? He tried to destroy it at every point.” I would like to point out to President Obama that he only has 92 percent of the votes among the Democrats. He is just the author, the father, of 23 million people who have insurance,” Carville said.

Obama will campaign for Harris in Pennsylvania on Thursday.

Carville also argued that Democrats did not sufficiently counter the Trump-Vance campaign’s messaging.

“And I think they and the entire campaign need to be much more aggressive and less passive than they are,” he said.

Harris has not yet held a formal news conference in the 81 days since he became the Democratic nominee following President Biden’s departure from the race.

During his “Politics War Room” podcast last week, Carville said Harris should go after Vance and Trump over the ObamaCare comments. He called Vance’s claim “an outright lie” and repeatedly asked why Harris himself did not speak about it in the media.

“Why isn’t Harris talking about that himself today?” Carville said during the podcast. “Get off your…Move, move, move!”
