I’ve covered Amazon Prime Day for 7 years – these are the best deals I’d buy in the Big Deal Days sale

Refresh

LG C4 OLED TV

Upgrade to an OLED display with this incredible deal on LG’s C4 OLED TV. Amazon has the 48-inch model on sale for $976.99, a whopping $1,000 discount, and a new record low price.

The LG C4 is a successor to last year’s LG C3 OLED, which TechRadar highly praised and is ranked in our best TV guide. Upgrades to the LG C4 include an improved picture experience with boosted brightness, a 144hz refresh rate, and LG’s latest Alpha 9 AI chip.

I already own a Dyson vacuum and can’t imagine my life without it. The Dyson V8 Plus is on sale for a record-low price of $299 during Amazon’s early Prime Day sale, making it one of the most affordable vacuums.

The powerful cordless vacuum features a de-tangling motor bar, works across hardwood floors and carpets, and can transform into a handheld vacuum for quick and convenient clean-ups.

Looking for Prime Day Lego deals?

I’ve rounded up some of the best early Prime Day Lego deals you can score right now with a Prime membership. Whether you’re looking for the perfect gift or just enjoy a nice build yourself, there are options across price ranges and savings on some of the most popular themes.

Ninja Foodi Max

The Ninja DZ201 is my dream air fryer. It features two frying baskets, so you can cook two different foods simultaneously. The eight-quart air fryer also features six different preset functions, so you can whip up easy meals with the touch of a button. Today’s early Prime Day sale brings the price down to $159.99, the best deal we’ve seen in months.

Blink Mini 2

I’ve had my eye on the Blink Mini 2 since its release in March, and now that it’s on sale for just $19.99 – it’s a must-buy.

The compact security camera features two-way audio and will alert your phone when motion is detected. The Blink 2 also includes a 1080p HD live view, a night view in color with a built-in spotlight, and a wider field of view.

All-new Blink Mini 2: was $39.99 now $19.99 at Amazon

Looking for the best Prime Day TV deals?

I’ve rounded up today’s best early Prime Day TV deals, which include a mix of Amazon’s Fire TV lineup and best-rated OLED displays. All the deals listed below are record-low prices, starting at just $73.99.

Amazon Echo Spot

If you don’t already own a smart speaker, it’s a life-changing device. The Echo Spot is Amazon’s newest Echo Espeaker that doubles as an alarm clock, meaning you get a powerful speaker with Alexa onboard and a smart alarm clock that wakes you up with music and displays the time, reminders, and water updates.

Today’s early Prime Day deal brings the price down to a record-low price thanks to a huge 44% discount.

Apple iPad 9th generation with A13 bionic chip on purple background with price cut sign

One of my favorite deals is back. Amazon has Apple’s 2021 iPad on sale for a record-low price of $199.99 – an excellent price for a fantastic tablet.

Despite its age, this iPad offers a gorgeous 10.2-inch screen with True Tone technology and decent battery life (we got around 10 hours in our testing), and will also continue to be supported with software updates until at least 2027. The iPad 10.2 (2021) is the best iPad if you’re on a budget, and we don’t expect to see Amazon’s $199.99 price bettered in the coming days.

Apple iPad 10.2 (2021): was $329.99 now $199.99 at Amazon

Oura Ring

The Oura Ring is on my Christmas wish list, and this early Prime Day deal tempts me to purchase it now. The third-generation Oura Ring can track your sleep, activity, stress, and heart rate and comes in several sizes and colors.

The Oura Ring is rarely discounted, and Amazon’s early price sale has prices starting at just $299.99, depending on the color you buy.

When does Amazon Prime Day start?

I’m taking a quick deals break to remind you when Amazon’s Prime Day sale starts.

The 48-hour sale starts tomorrow, October 8, at 12:01 AM PST and ends at 11:59 PM PST on Wednesday, October 9.

Keep in mind that you must be an Amazon Prime member to shop most Amazon Prime Day deals. If you aren’t already a member, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial, allowing you to shop for tomorrow’s sale.

crest whitestrips

I put the Crest 3D Whitestrips on my Prime Day shopping list yearly. The best-selling teeth whitening strips are rarely on sale, and today’s Prime Day deal brings the price down to $29.99 – $2 shy of the record low.

You get 48 whitening strips plus a bonus pair of one-hour express strips so that you can have a whiter smile in no time.

Crest 3D Whitestrips: was $45.99 now $29.99 at Amazon

LG C3 OLED TV

This might be the best OLED TV deal from Amazon’s early Prime Day sale. The retailer has LG’s 65-inch C3 OLED TV on sale for $1,396.99 (originally $2,499.99), a whopping $1,100 discount and a record-low price.

The LG C3 OLED TV is a successor to last year’s best-rated TV, the LG C2, and includes upgrades such as the brand’s latest and greatest image processor, the Alpha9 Gen6 chip, which delivers a gorgeous picture with improved brightness and contrast.

It’s a gorgeous OLED display at an incredible price, and I can’t imagine the price will drop further at Amazon’s official Prime Day sale.

Galaxy Watch 7 alongside an Amazon prime day logo

I’m still rocking a prehistoric Fitbit Versa 2 so the thought of finally upgrading my smartwatch has me looking out for good offers during Prime Big Deal Days. And now one has been pointed my way by our Fitness & Wearables writer, Stephen Warwick, who’s found the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 for a record-low price.

I don’t need anything too advanced, but it looks like the Galaxy Watch 7 comes with all the useful health and wellness features such as Energy Score, wellness tips, heart rate tracking, sleep monitoring, and more. And connected to my phone I can use it to play music and receive notifications which sounds like all I need.

Black KitchenAid stand mixer on pink background

I feel quite lucky I live with an avid baker who creates all sorts of cakes and biscuits and brownies and other sweet treats for me to devour. One large part of what helps keep our home flush with baked goods is a KitchenAid Stand Mixer as it makes the whole process quicker, easier and more efficient. It was a great buy.

So, if you or another person in your life considers themselves a challenger for the Bake Off tent then you won’t want to miss this $100 saving on a KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer for Amazon Prime Big Deal Days. It comes with a stainless steel bowl and three attachments for mixing, kneading and beating – everything the amateur or intermediate baker needs for the kitchen.

KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer: was $449.99 now $349.95 at Amazon

JBL Tune Buds on a colorful background with a sign saying 'Lowest price'

This deal recommendation comes from the audiophiles on our team who have picked out a record-low price on some noise-cancelling earbuds from JBL.

Why have the JBL Tune Flex got the nod of approval? Well, thanks to this half-price discount, they’re relatively inexpensive compared to other noise-cancelling buds from other brands. They also offer impressive battery life and a strong Bluetooth connection so you really won’t miss a moment of whatever you’re enjoying.

JBL Tune Flex: was $99.95 now $49.95 at Amazon

Will the Kindle deals be any better this Prime Day?

I, like many others, was so disappointed with the Prime Day Kindle deals from earlier in the year. The prices were fairly rubbish across the board, with many of the ereaders only equalling the record-low prices I’d seen in the past.

The worst part was that one of the most popular models, the Kindle Paperwhite, had actually been a lot cheaper in previous events. I spoke to a lot of people who were planning to buy one during the sale but were so put off by the inferior deals that they just didn’t bother.

Will things improve for Prime Big Deal Days? I can only hope so. As a big fan of ereaders I think they’re a great piece of tech for even the most casual reader, so I hope everyone can snag a bargain this week. I’ll keep an eye out on the deals and bring you my analysis and price history comparison once they go live.

Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ Deluxe by De'Longhi with Aeroccino on orange background with price cut sign

I’m a fairly regular coffee drinker so having an easy-to-use and convenient pod machine like this at home is ideal when I’m craving a cup of fast juice. It’s not as fancy as a premium bean-to-cup machine but the Nespresso Vertuo Pop is a fraction of the price and a new record-low for Prime members right now.

We loved it here at TechRadar, too, awarding it the full five stars in our Nespresso Vertuo Pop review. And this deal even includes a free Aeroccino milk frother, so you can even make lattes if you want to.

Is Prime Big Deal Days better than Amazon Prime Day?

Given both sales feature the same products there isn’t really a great deal that differentiates Prime Big Day Days from the more well-known Amazon Prime Day. It’s become a bit of a running joke in the TechRadar office with all the different combinations of words people have smashed together to try and get the name of this week’s sale right.

Whatever Amazon chooses to call it, from the deals I’ve seen so far and in the previous year’s sale, it’s an almost identical re-run of the July Prime Day event.

All of the usual Amazon devices are on sale, many of which are down to the cheapest prices I’ve seen all year. And with the brand names teased to join the sale when it kicks off fully tomorrow, I’m sure lots of our favorite TVs, headphones, appliances and more will all be back to the same discounted prices I saw earlier this year.

So, is one better than the other? No really. They’re basically the same in a lot of ways with a few small differences here or there. This second sale is just a way for Amazon to get a head start on the holiday shopping season as we approach Black Friday in November.

This recommendation comes mostly from my parents rather than myself. I bought them a smart display a few years ago as I saw one for cheap and thought it might be a fun little idea. Turns out it was one of the best gifts ever.

Since they got it, it’s sat in the kitchen and is used as a radio, a cooking timer, a photo frame, a TV screen and a video calling device. It gets a surprising amount of use for the low price I’d paid for it so if you’re eyeing up something handy and flexible as your first or latest piece of smart home tech then this is a bargain.

Shark Stratos Cordless Vacuum on a purple background

I fully recommend this vacuum alongside TechRadar’s team of home experts. I had a cheap vacuum for a long time: the suction was terrible, the battery life was pathetic and I had to unclog the brush roll after every use. When I finally picked up a Shark vacuum a couple of years ago it’s no exaggeration to say it changed my life, making my cleaning routine much easier and less stressful.

It’s an investment but I think it’s worth it, so be sure you don’t miss the Shark Stratos for a record-low price in the Amazon Prime Big Deal Days sale.

PS5 Slim Digital Edition deals

There’s been a lot of chat about the PlayStation 5 Pro lately. Do you need one? Is it too expensive? Shouldn’t it come with a disc drive? Honestly, I’m skipping it – I’m far more interested in the gorgeous PS1 throwback controller that’s already sold out everywhere.

But anyway, if you’re still considering one of Sony’s latest consoles then Amazon has PS5 Digital Edition for a record-low price ahead of Prime Day. This one also doesn’t have a disc drive which is a bit of a bummer, but if you’re happy buying all of your games digitally then it’s a good way to save a bit of extra cash on the console. And you can always add a PS5 disc drive later.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max on green background with lowest price sign in black

Let’s start with a Prime Day classic: the Amazon Fire TV Stick. More specifically, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max, as it’s down to a record-low price in the early Prime Big Deal Days sale. This is one of the easiest, cheapest and most convenient ways to add smart features and streaming apps to any TV with a HDMI port.

I picked one up for my decade-old LG TV that lives in the bedroom as it was probably made while Netflix was still shipping DVDs. And even though I rarely watch anything in bed, it’s nice to have the option to watch YouTube, stream from Amazon Prime or catch a bit of the NFL from time to time. All without needing to spend at least $100 on a new TV.
