Ah, but there’s a catch: NFL+ only comes with mobile viewing rights. If you want to watch the NFL on your own big screen TV, things get complicated. A lot more complicated.

Where to Watch NFL Games in 2024 With or Without Cable

NFL games air each week on CBS, ESPN, Fox, and NBC. If you want Sunday Ticket, along with access to all four of those channels, the cheapest option without traditional cable is through YouTube TV, which is currently offering a $65/month discount for new subscribers, along with a $100 price cut on its out-of-market football package (which otherwise costs $479 this season) for multi-channel customers. YouTube TV also comes with NFL Network, which will have seven exclusive games airing in 2024.

Venu Sports plus NBC’s Peacock and CBS’ Paramount Plus services would be a slightly cheaper way to get most common game broadcast channels (not counting NFLN), though that platform is currently in a legal limbo. For those who don’t need Sunday Ticket, Sling’s combo subscription with Paramount Plus could provide a similarly slightly cheaper bottom line.

Google currently offers a YouTube TV and Sunday Ticket package for $636, which gets you four months of football coverage, but not completely coverage. NFL RedZone is a $40 add-on for Sunday Ticket subscribers. (RedZone can also be purchased directly from the NFL for $15/month, or $60 for the season as part of NFL+ Premium.)

Streaming platforms to exclusively broadcast NFL games in 2024

Peacock: Peacock kicks off the season with its third exclusive game, a Friday night matchup between the Eagles and Packers from Brazil. The cheapest Peacock plan starts at $8/month (and generally the cheapest plan is the place to start for sports fans, since ads are included in broadcasts, even for premium subscribers).

Amazon Prime Video: Amazon returns with its third season of exclusive Prime Video broadcasts in Week 2, with a key Buffalo Bills vs. Miami Dolphins matchup. Fans who want to watch Thursday Evening Football can purchase a separate Prime Video subscription every week for $9/month if they don’t already have a larger Amazon Prime subscription for $15/month or $140/year.

ESPN+: On Monday, October 21, during the NFL’s Week 7, ESPN+ will have its only exclusive game of the season, featuring the Los Angeles Chargers and Arizona Cardinals. ESPN+ is currently $11/month.

Netflix: And for the first time this season, Netflix has joined in on the NFL broadcast party. The streamer is airing two games on Christmas, and the lowest subscription price is currently $7/month.

Adding up those four services for their required subscription periods adds up to $62, which comes to $698. For the playoffs, an additional month of YouTube TV and Prime Video (which has its first exclusive postseason game this season) adds $82. And for the Super Bowl, you can sign up for an additional month of YouTube TV for $73 to stream Fox. But we recommend picking up an antenna for $8.

The final combined price? $788. That said, almost all sports fans are likely already paying for some of the above services.

If you omit Sunday Ticket, the total price for the four streamers plus YouTube TV now drops to $322 for the regular season. YouTube also offers a $199 Sunday Ticket package for verified students.

Of course, fans of their local teams can also watch all the games with a $20 antenna and watch highlights of other games online.
