How the Jaguars’ night got even worse after they got crushed by the Bills

The Jaguars struggled with touchdowns and touchdown passes.

After perhaps the worst performance of any team in Week 3 of the NFL, falling 47-10 to the Bills, the Jaguars likely just wanted to get out of Buffalo and back to Jacksonville to lick their wounds.

However, NFL Network reported that the Jaguars were unable to leave Buffalo until after 1 a.m. ET due to mechanical issues with their plane.

Because the flight departed around 1 a.m., Jacksonville arrived in their home state late, after a delay of nearly three hours.

The match ended around 10:30 PM (Eastern Time), although the result was known long before that.

You can imagine the Jaguars locker room was not happy to leave Buffalo. They had been beaten so badly in prime time in front of the entire country. And that probably only got worse as they stood on the blacktop waiting to find out what had happened this season.

“It’s really shocking. Very disappointed. You hate to say it, but the reality is we’re not very good right now,” Pederson said. “I need everybody to coach and play better. Let’s leave it at that.”

The extremely late return won’t do them any favors in Week 4, as they have a short week and will have to travel again, this time to take on their division rival, the Houston Texans.

After being defeated by the Bills, the Jaguars hope to gain some respect across the league with a win in Houston.

If not, the team could face major changes in their personnel and staff after the completely non-competitive game from the opening drive.

Much of that work will fall to coach Doug Pederson, who must quickly get the ship back on course.

The Jaguars entered this season with high hopes of competing for the AFC South title, but they now find themselves in last place.

Jacksonville and the Titans are 0-3, the Colts are 1-2, and the Texans are on top with a 2-1 record.

Pederson has been the team’s coach since 2022, when he succeeded the promising Urban Meyer.

Under Pederson, the Jaguars have endured two disappointing 9-8 seasons despite undoubtedly having the talent to compete deep in the playoffs. However, their 0-3 record this season is the biggest disappointment for the franchise.
