How Anna Delvey Decorated Her Ankle Bracelet for ‘DWTS’ — Despite Being Able to Take It Off

Anna Delvey shares the secrets behind her bedazzled ankle bracelet for “Dancing With the Stars.”

Following Tuesday’s Season 33 premiere, the “fake heiress” turned fashion publicist spoke exclusively to Page Six Style about how she worked with the show’s wardrobe team to add some bling to her court-ordered tracking device.

“Well, we worked with the costume department. We couldn’t leave the ankle bracelet naked, so we decided to make it match (my dress),” explains Delvey, who has been under house arrest since 2022.

“And it’s like a little sleeve,” she clarified, noting that the rhinestones were applied to fabric — not “glued directly” to her anklet, as some “people complained” about. “So, it was a fun little thing to do!”

Her pro partner, Ezra Sosa, has also worn his own version of an ankle bracelet in their recent TikToks to promote the dance competition series. However, his DIY accessory has yet to make an actual appearance on the live show.

“Honestly, they asked me not to wear it,” he said while chatting with us on the red carpet. “I was planning on wearing it, but I think that’s something for, you know, maybe later this season.”

Delvey (real name: Anna Sorokin) was the subject of Netflix’s “Inventing Anna” after serving a prison sentence in 2019 for posing as a German heiress. She made headlines for defrauding companies and individuals of more than $250,000 from 2013 to 2017.

She has used her ankle bracelet as an accessory in the past, having an “A” tattooed on it when she appeared in court last summer.

Before she said yes to “Dancing With the Stars,” the 33-year-old fashionista had to get special permission from ICE to travel from her home base of New York to Los Angeles, where rehearsals and live shows take place each week.

And what happens when the show in LA officially ends – or the dance duo is eliminated?

“My primary residence is still in New York, so I would just go back to New York,” confirmed Delvey, who told us she recently returned to the Big Apple with Sosa for New York Fashion Week. “But for now, I get to travel back and forth (for) work in LA, and I just stay in touch with my supervisors.”

“Honestly, they asked me not to wear it,” the debuting pro told us, about why he didn’t wear it during the live show. Disney

During Tuesday’s premiere, Delvey’s blinged-out contraption took center stage as she and Sosa performed a cha cha to Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso.” The pair earned a combined score of 18/30 from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli.

“I feel pretty good that it’s over,” the fashionista admitted to Page Six shortly after the show wrapped. “I didn’t feel nervous at first, but as it got closer — because I was the last one (to dance) — I started feeling nervous and felt like I could have done a better dance.”

She added: “But hopefully I will improve and do better next time.”

Meanwhile, Sosa was feeling elated after making his debut as a rookie pro this season. It was an extra special night because his sister, Stephani, was also dancing in the ballroom as a new member of the group.

“It was literally the best (night) ever… and it’s so nice to be in the ballroom with family,” he raved, telling us there were definitely some sentimental tears before the show. “It couldn’t have been better, honestly. It was a really special moment for us.”

“Dancing With the Stars” airs Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+.
