Team Andrews got to work

Andrews is the youngest of four children and his family is his primary training team during the off-season. The Andrews are close-knit and know how driven Mark is.

High performance runs in the family. His father and brother Jack are both urologists. His brother Charlie works with Martha in their successful real estate business. His sister Annie is a dentist and recently opened her own practice.

The Andrews siblings are all very competitive, athletic, and goal-oriented. When Mark needs a workout, his father and a combination of his siblings answer the call, ready to push Andrews as hard as he pushes himself. The family loves being around Mark, and he loves being involved with them.

“People are a little shocked that he doesn’t have someone famous that he goes to for training,” Martha said. “He has people working on his body, but the Ravens give him tools for workouts and he takes it from there.”

Andrews bought a house a few years ago that is just a mile from his parents’ home in Scottsdale. His home has a huge backyard that includes a Jugs machine, a blocking sled, battle ropes and more. Andrews purchased more specific equipment this offseason to focus on increasing his ankle flexibility and strength.

When he wasn’t rehabbing at home, Andrews would head to a local field where he likes to do his precision training, which often attracts large crowds.

“We love this one field because he’s very particular about the grass,” said his father, Paul. “The grass has to be to his liking. The people who work on this field probably wouldn’t let most people do what we do, go over the fence with all that equipment. But they know it’s Mark, and kids know it’s him and they come and watch.”
