Highlight of Chargers vs. Chiefs: Fulton shuts down Mahomes

The Chargers forced a second turnover against the Chiefs.

Kansas City got the ball back after Los Angeles scored a touchdown on a Justin Herbert pass to Ladd McConkey to capitalize on a Carson Steele fumble. On the first play of their next drive, Patrick Mahomes dropped back and looked for Travis Kelce, who had a 38-yard reception on Kansas City’s first drive.

However, Mahomes’ pass sailed toward him, giving cornerback Kristian Fulton a chance to get under the ball and intercept it for the Chargers’ second turnover. Fulton returned the interception 29 yards to the Chiefs 20 before fumbling the ball, with safeties Alohi Gilman and AJ Finley battling with Kansas City offensive linemen Wanya Morris and Creed Humphrey for the loose ball.

Initially, the officials ruled that Humphrey had recovered the ball and given it back to Kansas City. However, upon review, they determined that Finley had touched the ball while out of bounds, making it a dead ball and leaving it in the Chargers’ possession.

Los Angeles changed the pick to a 50-yard Cameron Dicker field goal, putting the Chargers up 10–0.
