On October 2, an annular solar eclipse will be visible from parts of the Southern Hemisphere. Although much of South America will see a partial solar eclipse, some observers will witness a “ring of fire” around the moon from a narrow annular path.

The location of the observer determines when the ring of fire will be visible.
