Have the Buffalo Bills’ expectations changed after two games?

Welcome back to our Weekend Chat, Buffalo Bills fans. It’s our final Weekend Chat before the Bills play on Sunday, and I’ve saved the biggest topic of discussion for this weekend.

A week ago the Bills were 0-0 and I asked if this season was “Super Bowl or bust” in terms of your expectations. After 70 responses from all sides of the conversation, we moved on to a football Sunday.

Since then, the Bills have come back to beat the Arizona Cardinals and have taken the floor with their AFC East “rival,” the Miami Dolphins. Buffalo is currently the only 2-0 team in the NFL.

Have your expectations changed?

Buffalo did lose starting defensive back Taron Johnson, though it should be a short-term injury as he was not on the injured list for Thursday’s game. The news may not be as good for starting linebacker and team captain Terrel Bernard, who left the game with a pectoral injury that could keep him off the field for an extended period.

On the other hand, they’ve shown that their offense can be explosive, versatile and dynamic. They can count on Josh Allen in big moments, but also that their offensive line will play well and their skill players are solid. And that injured defense has stepped up time and time again to make plays.

My expectations aren’t based on regular season success, but it’s nice that some of the things we were hoping would happen this offseason did happen early on. We’ll see if they can continue to slice through the league in January and February. I still expect the Bills to win the division and then once you get into the playoffs, anything can happen.

Feel free to chat about this or anything else in the comments section for the weekend. This is your place for fellowship.
