The Golden Knights fell short against the Colorado Avalanche in a 3-1 preseason loss at T-Mobile Arena on Thursday.

HOW IT WENTColorado took a 1-0 lead midway through the first period. After the Avalanche extended their lead to two in the second period, Jack Eichel scored on the power play with 1:35 left in the second, cutting the lead in half. In the closing minute of the third, the Avalanche scored an empty-net goal, putting them ahead 3-1. Ilya Samsonov made 24 saves on the 26 shots he faced.
