“Everyone was just so sweet and so supportive and kind and just wanted to do the best they could at every moment. So I take that with me,” she added.

When asked about playing a strong female lead on the series, Torres called the opportunity to portray a “multifaceted” and “fully developed” character “such a blessing.”

“We’ve seen her in times where she wasn’t necessarily at her best, which is also great,” she said of Tommy. “She’s had a lot to work through.”

Later that same day, Fox dropped a new trailer for the upcoming season. As shots of explosions and action-packed chases flashed across the screen, the cast gave fans a glimpse into what to expect in the final episode of 9-1-1: Lonely star.

“Season five opens with a massive train derailment,” Lowe began, to which Torres added, “It’s one of the most powerful opening experiences I’ve had in a long time.”

The cast gave a sneak peek at the “crazy” circumstances their characters will find themselves in. Brian Michael Smith also said fans can expect to see the beloved characters “getting blown up (and) flying through the air.”

“We thought it was just the train crash, but the danger remains,” Torres recalled. “There’s a gas cloud.”
