    The San Diego Padres aim for a wild-card series sweep against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday at Petco Park, a day after a thrilling Game 1 victory.

    Fernando Tatis Jr.’s monstrous home run in the first inning gave the Padres all the runs they needed, then won 4-0 and moved to the edge of the National League Division Series, where a matchup with the rival Los Angeles Dodgers awaits.

    Lefty Max Fried (11-10, 3.25 ERA) gets the start for Atlanta in what could be the team’s final free-agent game. Right-hander Joe Musgrove (6-5, 3.88 ERA) takes the mound for San Diego in hopes of clinching a spot in the next round.
