New data from the Federal Trade Commission shows a dramatic increase in the amount of money consumers report losing to scammers using Bitcoin ATM machines. Since 2020, the amount of money consumers report losing has increased nearly tenfold, to more than $110 million by 2023. NBC News’ Christine Romans speaks with one victim who says she’s lost tens of thousands of dollars.
