Former Patriots receiver Danny Amendola, Olympic star Stephen Nedoroscik among ‘Dancing with the Stars’ cast

Former New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola has joined two-time Olympic bronze medalist Stephen Nedoroscik — affectionately known as “pommel horse guy” — among the Boston-area celebrities appearing on this fall’s season of “Dancing with the Stars,” the ABC network announced Wednesday.

Amendola, who retired from the NFL in 2022, and Nedoroscik, a Worcester native who was announced as a contestant on the reality show last month, will pit their skills on the dance floor against former “Bachelorette” star Jenn Tran, who has lived in Boston, and actors Eric Roberts, Tori Spelling, Reginald VelJohnson and Chandler Kinney, according to an announcement on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

Ilona Maher, a member of the U.S. women’s rugby team that won a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics; reality TV stars Joey Graziadei and Phaedra Parks; former NBA player Dwight Howard; fake heiress Anna “Delvey” Sorokin; and model Brooks Nader round out this season’s celebrity cast.

Season 33 of “Dancing with the Stars” will be hosted by Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro, with Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough returning as judges, according to the show’s website. The season premieres Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with Hulu streaming the following day, the site said.
