Thick smoke from wildfires is hanging in the Nevada air, so it’s going to be pretty foggy in Las Vegas on Friday. A wildfire smoke advisory is in effect in Clark County through Sept. 30. Sensitive individuals should limit their outdoor exposure.

Temperatures are also above normal with a high of 106 today. Because that is about 6 degrees above average for this time of year, an extreme heat warning is in effect. It expires at 8:00 PM tonight.

There is a chance of rain and a few thunderstorms in southern Nevada over the weekend, which will provide some cooling and help clear the smoke from the wildfires.
