Fake heiress Anna Delvey says winning ‘DWTS’ would mean ‘nothing’ to her

Anna Delvey doesn’t care whether she wins or loses “Dancing With the Stars.”

The 33-year-old fake heiress, who dances with her professional partner Ezra Sosa and wears her court-ordered ankle bracelet, made the shocking claim after the Season 33 cast was revealed on Wednesday.

When Entertainment Weekly asked the convicted con artist what it would mean if she won the mirrorball trophy, she said, “Nothing, really. I don’t know.”

Delvey seemed to want to change her answer, laughing and clarifying: “That would be great.”

While the disgraced socialite, who was released from prison in 2021 and remains under house arrest, doesn’t seem to care if she wins this season, her partner would love to win the trophy considering he’s only just joined the show.

“I’m obsessed with her,” Sosa said of Delvey, adding, “To me, it would mean a little bit more than that, because I really love what I do and this show is my biggest dream.”

Delvey, not changing her tone, interrupted her: “I can have the ball, I think?”

Sosa confirmed that his partner is not interested in winning the dance competition, claiming that Delvey “said if she won, she would put the trophy (the mirror ball) in storage.”

As for himself, he told the outlet, “But I would put mine on the mantel. I make sure it gets some sunlight.”

Delvey said her decision to join “DWTS” was made “at the very last minute” due to legal restrictions following her release from prison.

“They offered it to me, then I had to get permission from ICE to leave the state and that took about 10 days,” Delvey said. “I didn’t know until the very last minute whether I could do it or not, and then it was kind of too late to say no, so I’m just here.”

Delvey won’t be hiding her ankle bracelet this season either.

“I’m going to put her ankle bracelet on,” her partner announced. “Of course! It’s Dancing With the Stars! What do you expect?”

The ex-socialite also revealed that she already had experience on the dance floor.

“I danced a little bit when I was 4 and 12,” Delvey told EW, “but I haven’t really danced in the last 20 years.”

In 2019, Delvey was sentenced to four to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges including theft and aggravated robbery in connection with defrauding institutions of at least $250,000 to fund her extravagant lifestyle, posing as the daughter of a German oil baron.

In 2021, she was released for her good behavior, and her story became the backdrop for the Netflix series Inventing Anna.

Delvey wasn’t the only shocking star to join “DWTS” Season 33.

The cast also includes former “Beverly Hills, 90210” actress Tori Spelling, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaedra Parks, Julia Roberts’ brother and Emma Roberts’ father Eric Roberts, retired NFL player Danny Amendola, NBA star Dwight Howard, recently dumped “Bachelorette” Jenn Tran, Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik and many more.

“Dancing With the Stars” premieres September 17 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+.
