Ex-Penn State star Micah Parsons’ status uncertain after injury during Dallas’ win over Giants

Dallas standout Micah Parsons, one of the best defenders in the NFL, left the Cowboys’ 20-15 win over the New York Giants with an apparent lower leg injury.

Parson, a Harrisburg High graduate who played two seasons at Penn State, injured his left ankle with 3:30 left in the Cowboys’ win in East Rutherford, N.J., on Thursday night.

Parsons, a first-round pick in his fourth season with Dallas, will undergo an MRI of his ankle on Friday, according to a report from ESPN.com.

Parsons, an edge rusher, was injured when he came into contact with two Giants offensive linemen. He was carted off the field.

Parsons told ESPN.com that x-rays taken on the ankle at MetLife Stadium came back negative.

“Right now I’m just frozen,” Parsons said afterward, according to ESPN.com.

“I know very little. I have an MRI on Friday and I’m going to try to come back next week.

The 2-2 Cowboys have a few extra days off before visiting the Pittsburgh Steelers for a Sunday night game on October 6.
