Events held around Las Vegas on the 7th anniversary of October 1st

October 1 marks the seven-year anniversary of the tragedy that struck the Las Vegas Valley and several events are being held to remember the lives affected.

OCTOBER 1 SUNRISE CEREMONY

The day begins at 7:30 a.m. with a sunrise ceremony on October 1 at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater in downtown Las Vegas.

The event is open to the public and features live music from members of the Las Vegas-based country ensemble Thrillbilly Deluxe, the Southern Nevada Multiagency Honor Guard and a minute of silence for those lost on October 1, 2017.

Visitors are asked to bring lawn chairs as there is limited seating available.

VGK OCTOBER 1 MEMORIAL BLOOD DRIVE

The Vegas Golden Knights will also host their annual Memorial Blood Drive on October 1 to honor first responders, victims and generous blood donors in the Las Vegas area.

Select members of the Golden Knights organization, including team broadcasters and VGK Cast, will be on hand throughout the day to donate blood, greet fans and support those affected by the Oct. 1 tragedy.

The ride will take place on the grounds north of the City National Arena from 9am to 3pm. Parking is available at the Las Vegas Ballpark grounds east of the City National Arena.

In addition, the team will host first responders from the Las Vegas area during a special practice session and meet-and-greet to thank them for their service to the community and commemorate the anniversary.

The Golden Knights have a preseason road game Tuesday night in Colorado, but non-traveling players will practice Tuesday morning.

NO LOAD 6 EVENT

At noon, Unburdened 6 will host a gathering to honor veterans, first responders and attendees of the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival at Canyon Ridge Christian Church for the anniversary.

Organizers say the event aims to pay tribute to those who have experienced trauma and marks the first event for Unburdened 6 – a new local organization aimed at helping and supporting these individuals.

FUENTE DE VIDA EVENT

Fuente de Vida will host a healing event Tuesday with Latino survivors, survivors, first responders and members of the affected community.

The event will take place at United Way of Southern Nevada at 6:30 PM and will feature personal remarks from Senator Jacky Rosen.
