ESPN extends US Open Tennis rights through 2037

ESPN has signed a 12-year contract extension with the US Tennis Association and will continue its coverage of the US Open through 2037.

The Disney outlet said the new deal will begin in 2026. In addition to the U.S., it will include Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as Canada on TSN and RDS. ESPN Deportes will also remain the exclusive Spanish-language home of the Open in the U.S.

When the new deal goes into effect, it will include expanded ESPN streaming coverage. ABC will continue to air games on the final Sunday of the two-week tournament, as well as “Middle Sunday” games.

“We are extremely proud of our 15-year relationship with the USTA,” said ESPN Chairman Jimmy Pitaro. “This agreement reinforces our long-term commitment to tennis, our ability to present one of the most important events on the annual sporting calendar and, as the world’s first sporting event to offer equal prize money for both female and male competitors, The Walt Disney Company’s industry-leading commitment to women’s sports.”

This year’s Open began Monday on ESPN and ends on September 8.

IMG brokered the deal on behalf of the USTA. “This ESPN deal is groundbreaking, not just for the USTA and the US Open, but for tennis globally,” said Hillary Mandel, EVP and Head of Americas, Media at IMG. “The new agreement will dramatically boost the exposure, production, promotion, content and economic investment of this iconic, compelling Grand Slam, driving record year-over-year growth for the next decade and beyond.”
