Eminem Wears ‘Houdini’ in Thin Shady Wig at 2024 MTV VMAs

Eminem remembered his name during the 2024 MTV VMAs.

On Wednesday, September 11, the 51-year-old “Without Me” musician gave an energetic rendition of “Houdini” to open the awards show at New York’s UBS Arena. He also performed the Jelly Roll-assisted “Somebody Save Me.”

Eminem began his performance with “Houdini,” wearing a Slim Shady wig, as did many other people on stage surrounding the rapper, in a reference to the song’s music video.

He then removed his wig, put on a black baseball cap and rapped “Somebody Save Me,” while video footage of Jelly Roll (who was not present) singing the chorus appeared on screens around the stage.

During the performance, Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, performed material from his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), his television debut.
