Last week we struck gold with the Eagles, who dominated the Saints and, despite the best efforts of Nick Siranni, got the cover on the road. But it was a costly victory, as a star tackle Lane Johnson lost due to concussion, DeVonta Smith also left the game due to a concussion, and AJ Brown missed the match due to a hamstring injury.

Why this really matters is that the Eagles have a bye next week. Would the Eagles really try to bring back anyone from that trio with the option of an extra week of rest?

I’m here in Tampa expecting the Eagles not to send anyone back since this is a marathon and not a sprint. This is less of a bet on Tampa and more of an Eagles fade.

The Bucs looked terrible last week, which was predictable with the win against the Lions. Tampa has its own injury problems – start with defensive linemen Calijah Chancey And Vita Vea – and there is a world where Saquon Barkley rushes for 150 yards and the Eagles steal a road win.

But will they be able to gain a margin, or will this be a 13-12 victory for the Eagles?

It’s a revenge spot for Philly after the playoff humiliation. Also keep an eye on Tropical Storm Helene, which could create a windy, sloppy field.
