Dolphins’ De’Von Achane available to play against Bills after ankle injury in season opener

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Running back De’Von Achane was available to play when the Dolphins took on the Buffalo Bills in an AFC East rivalry game Thursday night.

Achane was questionable due to an ankle injury he suffered in Miami’s season opener, and was on the field a few hours before kickoff, warming up, running and cutting.

Running back Raheem Mostert was ruled out Wednesday with a pectoral injury. Earlier Thursday, the Dolphins pulled receiver Robbie Chosen from the practice squad.

The Bills had already ruled out starting nickel cornerback Taron Johnson, who is out indefinitely after injuring his right forearm in their opener against Arizona. Reserve edge rusher Dawuane Smoot was also out with a toe injury, missing his second game. Linebackers Joe Andreessen and Edefuan Ulofoshio were also out.

Buffalo signed defensive end Kingsley Jonathan from the practice squad.
