The Denver Broncos achieved a 3-2 record by winning the Las Vegas Raiderswho came to the Mile High City hoping to extend their winning streak to nine games. The Broncos put the kybosh on that opportunity by winning 34-18.

It wasn’t a consistent game for the Broncos, especially on offense, but they found a way to make it happen in the second half and walked away with the win.

Both units produced some great moments, but many exceptional individual performances were also recorded, and the player figures reflected this. This week was among the highest marks I’ve given out in recent years, as a few players almost literally put this team on their backs to get the Broncos to victory.

This was a terrible start for Nix, who looked uncomfortable and unsure on the field. He made questionable reads, failed to read pre-snap pressure, adjusted his blocking or called blockers.

However, Nix bounced back in a big way by finding comfort and reading the ball better. Best of all, the rookie showed it off some fire on the sidelines by going toe-to-toe with Sean Payton about a play that Nix turned into a dropped touchdown by his college teammate, Troy Franklin.

It’s been a banner two weeks for Williams after being one of the NFL’s worst running backs through the first three weeks of the season. He has impacted the Broncos’ offense as a runner, receiver and blocker.

The Broncos will need him to keep this up if they are serious about making a playoff push. McLaughlin is fast and dashing, but he left yards on the field with questionable vision on some of his runs.

Humphrey and Sutton have built chemistry with Nix, and it shows in their performance in games. There are still timing issues, but they are being worked on.

As for Reynolds, he hasn’t been what the Broncos wanted. He doesn’t seem to have good chemistry with Nix, and his efforts remain questionable.

The Broncos need a playmaker at this position. Trautman did well as a blocker while Adkins struggled, but neither she nor Lucas Krull bring the Broncos the receiving power they need.

This was one of Bolles’ better games in his career. He didn’t allow any pressure, did an excellent job in the run game and the only penalty against him was a fake.

Peart did well when he came in for Palczewski, who went down with an injury, which was nice because he struggled in this match during an extremely tough match against Maxx Crosby.

This was a matchup for Powers that many expected from him consistently when the Broncos signed him, so hopefully he can maintain this high level of play. Wattenberg did well against some tough matches, winning slightly more than he lost before getting hurt.

Meinerz started the match rough, but he found his groove and finished the match solid, despite injuries on both sides of him.

The Broncos defensive line performed well overall. They weren’t consistent enough to start the game, but they found their groove and started playing consistently as a unit.

Allen is the leader of the room and opens the door for everyone else. Roach was a great find with his play in the middle and showed up as more of a pass rusher than anyone expected. Franklin-Myers and Jones were the most inconsistent of the group, but both played high-quality games.

Cooper has started the season well and the Broncos should reward him with a significant contract extension soon. He was the most consistent player in the room as a pass rusher or run defender.

Bonitto still has impact as a pass rusher, but his run defense remains problematic, with few good plays outweighing the overwhelming bad ones. Elliss had a great block on an interception return that should have the Broncos moving him to tight end as it was better than anything the Broncos have gotten from the position. All kidding aside, Elliss struggled defensively as a pass rusher and run defender.

The Broncos defense hasn’t skipped a beat since Alex Singleton was injured and Strnad replaced him. In fact, it would be easy to say that they have been even better, although the sample size is still relatively small. Barton had a rough game against the Raiders and is showing more issues in coverage while lacking consistency on the run.

What can be said about Surtain? He had a phenomenal game and the best game from a Broncos corner since Champ Bailey.

Moss has developed into a good angle opposite Surtain, who can handle the extra attention he receives. Moss finally earned an opposing quarterback with an excellent interception. McMillian was a bit rough, but he faced tough games in coverage, and he did well against the run for the most part.

There were some questionable plays from Locke outside of the big catch-and-run touchdown he gave up on the Raiders’ first drive. There was another play in coverage where he was in the right position and broke up the pass.

Overall, Locke’s grade was heavily affected by the first touchdown catch he gave up. Jones was consistent at all stages, as he has been all season.
