Denver Broncos at Seattle Seahawks third quarter recap

The Denver Broncos got the ball first to start the second half up 13-9 against the Seattle Seahawks. They struggled with this offense in the first half and it continued in the second half with another quick three and out. Bo Nix just couldn’t find a rhythm in his first start.

Seattle’s offense looked like it was shaking off a poor first half. Geno Smith hit Tyler Lockett on a solid outside gain, then followed that up to the gut twice for big gains to the Broncos’ 25-yard line. It took them just three plays to get into the red zone. Two plays later, Kenneth Walker broke loose for a 23-yard touchdown to put Seattle back ahead.

Seahawks 16, Broncos 13.

The Broncos offense can’t get out of its own way. They get an initial first down on a Jaleel McLaughlin 15-yard gain up the middle, but he then fumbles on a short swing pass to give the Seahawks the ball on the Denver 47-yard line.

Their touchdown was called back on a holding call, saving the Broncos defense, who forced a field goal instead of ending the game on a one-score basis.

Seahawks 19, Broncos 13.

Once again, the Broncos gained a few yards on a drive. After a short run and a short pass, they faced a third-and-five. Nix threw a pass to Courtland Sutton that was horribly obstructed, but no flag was pretty. That would be Denver’s eighth three-and-out of the game.

The third quarter ends with the Seahawks back on the road and on the verge of deciding this game. What a disastrous third quarter for Denver.
