National Coffee Day is Sunday September 29th and we are really looking forward to it!

To help coffee lovers celebrate this special day, coffee shops, fast food restaurants, convenience stores and other places known for their coffee are offering freebies, discounts or offers.

The Fall 2024 National Coffee Data Trends (NCDT) analysis showed that out-of-home coffee consumption peaked highest peak since January 2020. However, 81% of past coffee drinkers drink coffee at home, while 36% get coffee outside the home. There is overlap for those who drink coffee both inside and outside their homes.

Most Americans (51%) believe coffee is good for their health; The analysis also found that 66% believe coffee improves mental focus, while 46% believe coffee improves physical endurance. Nearly half (48%) said they had heard about the health benefits of drinking coffee in the past year.

With this data, it may not come as a surprise that American adults are drinking more than 400 million cups of coffee per dayThis is reported by the National Coffee Association. The 2024 trends report shows what the average coffee-drinking American has 2.5 cups of coffee per day.

Here are some other key findings from the National Coffee Association:

While 61% of Americans choose traditional coffee, 56% opt for specialty coffees such as lattes, espressos and cappuccinos.
24% of coffee cups from the past day were served cold, an increase of 60% compared to winter 2023.
It’s no surprise that 84% of Americans drink coffee for breakfast. A whopping 76% say coffee wakes them up and gets them going.

When is National Coffee Day 2024?

The special day has arrived September 29 every year, and in 2024 it happens to fall on a Sunday. And if you don’t like caffeine on the weekend, don’t worry: International Coffee Day is Tuesday, October 1.

Another coffee celebration is coming to Texas next year: the 2025 National Coffee Association Convention will take place in Houston on March 6-8.

National Coffee Day 2024 offers

Starbucks

Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon, Starbucks is teaming up with music duo Sofi Tukker to host a special Twitch livestream DJ set, “At Home with Sofi Tukker,” to inspire and connect loved ones over coffee and music . Starbucks is also offering $10 off eligible Starbucks at-home coffee products on Amazon with any $50 purchase, while supplies last through Sunday.

Dunkin’ Donuts

The national chain Dunkin’ is offering its Dunkin’ Rewards members a free hot or iced coffee with every purchase. Maximum one per member.

Krispy Kreme donuts

All guests receive a medium hot or iced coffee with every purchase. In addition to the free coffee, Krispy Kreme is adding a sweet offer of $2 for a dozen Original Glazed Donuts when you purchase a dozen. The offer is available in stores, drive-thru and for pickup or delivery at krispykreme.com or via the mobile app using promo codes COFFEE and BOGO2, while supplies last.

Scooter coffee

Customers who order in advance or pay with the app on September 29 and 30 will receive free hot or iced coffee in any size. The first 25 customers at each participating location will also receive a free limited edition mug.

Circle K

A free medium iced or hot coffee can be redeemed via the Circle K app from September 26 to October 2.

Pilot flying J

On National Coffee Day, free hot, iced or cold-brewed coffee of any size is available all day. Redeem the free coffee via the myRewards Plus app at participating Pilot and Flying J travel centers. Pilot’s new fall coffee flavors include Bourbon Pecan hot coffee, Cinnamon Roll cold brew and Cinnamon Pumpkin Spice cappuccino.

Whataburger

On September 29 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., all guests will receive a complimentary 16-ounce iced coffee or 12-ounce hot coffee. No purchase necessary.

La Madeleine

From September 29 to October 1, customers can get a free drip coffee with every purchase in store or online.

Shipley Do Nuts

Rewards members who order coffee through the chain’s app on National Coffee Day will receive a free glazed donut.

Kolache factory

Customers can get a coupon via Kolache Factory’s social media on September 29, good for a free 12-ounce coffee. The deal is only available in-store.

Paris baguette

PB Rewards members receive a free medium hot or iced coffee brewed with Lavazza coffee with purchase Friday-Sunday.

Tim Hortons

Tim’s Reward members receive a free medium hot or iced coffee with every purchase from Friday to Sunday. The offer is valid at participating locations and can be redeemed once.
