Davante Adams trade request, interest in joining Jets ‘out of my hands’

The Jets have long been considered a potential destination if the Raiders were to part ways with Adams. As recently as this summer, every time the QB commented on his former teammate, the quotes were quoted like a Zapruder movie.

In July, Rodgers talked about golf. On Friday, he talked about watering green on his relationship with Adams.

“The grass is green where you water it,” Rodgers said. “There’s the fear-mongering that comes with the adage that ‘the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.’ But the grass is greener where you water it. You put the time in, you put the intention, the intention into what you do, and you can make being anywhere a special situation.”

Terrifying idiom twisters aside, Rodgers’ experience with Adams would undoubtedly prove useful if the QB and WR teamed up again. In eight seasons together in Green Bay, Rodgers completed 615 passes for 7,517 yards and 68 TDs for Adams. Including the playoffs, Rodgers and Adams have racked up 76 touchdowns, which ranks fifth among all QB-WR duos in NFL history.

That’s a lot of watering.
