‘Dancing With The Stars’ Pro Artem Chigvintsev Faces No Domestic Violence Charges After Arrest

Artem Chigvintsev, a former pro at Dancing with the starswill not face charges following his arrest on suspicion of domestic violence.

According to a press release from the DA’s office, Napa County District Attorney Allison Haley has decided not to file criminal charges.

“While we take every arrest seriously and strongly oppose domestic violence, we have an ethical obligation to only file charges if they are supported by the evidence,” said Napa County District Attorney Allison Haley. “We must prove every criminal charge ‘beyond a reasonable doubt,’ which is the highest standard in the U.S. criminal justice system. If the available evidence does not meet this standard of proof, we cannot ethically file charges.”

While the district attorney has not filed criminal charges at this time, Haley noted that they “may revisit the case if they learn of other incidents or otherwise learn of facts or evidence that was not previously known.”

Chigvintsev was arrested on August 29 following a domestic violence incident that occurred in Yountville, California.

The professional dancer previously appeared in four seasons of the British Strictly Come Dancinghas been a fixture on the American version for over a decade, first as a company dancer and then as a professional since 2014. He has appeared in 12 seasons of DTWS and 10 of the last 11, including last year, when he was paired with Charity Lawson. He won with partner Kaitlyn Bristowe in the 2020 season.

Chigvintsev was also part of the Dancing with the Stars Live 2024 tour earlier this year.
